Why
should I
adopt a pit?
Pit Bulls are social, friendly, and bond strongly to their owners. They are smart
and learn fast. Pits have a ton of personality. They are very affectionate and loving
dogs. Pits are great cuddlers who appreciate attention. They are great outdoor dogs because they are so athletically built!
Due to bad owners, there’s an overpopulation of Pit Bulls and not
enough good homes.

How does the adoption process work?
First, you’ll want to look at our Adopt-A-Bulls gallery and find a dog that you like. Once you find a pit you’d like to get, download and fill out our ADOPTION APPLICATION with the dogs name you’re interested in adopting as well as the required form information. We will review your application and if we feel you would be a good match for our dog(s) we will set up a meeting followed by a home check.
-
What are the adoption requirements?
We require all of our potential adopters to go through a rigorous pre-screening process. If the potential adopter has pets, we require a ‘meet & greet’ before releasing the dog to the new owner. We require a home check at the potential adopters home to address any concerns we might have about the environment for our dog. We require proof of transfer of ownership on the dogs microchip. We require an adoption fee.
-
Is this Pit the right fit?
Just like dating, a lot of factors come into play when trying to find the right Pit Bull for you or your family. Do you live an active lifestyle and want a dog that can keep up with you on all of your adventures? Do you live a more laid back lifestyle and want a dog that can relax with you and has a calmer disposition? Do you already have animals at home? Which gender/personality will match with them best?
-
Are rescue dogs healthy?
All of our rescues are vetted when we take ownership of them. If any health problems are found, we address them immediately with the help of our donors. All of our dogs are current on shots, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped. If a dog has a terminal health condition, but can still live a good quality of life, we will address it with the potential adopter and make sure they want to proceed. We will also help the adopter to establish a long term care plan for the dog. All medical records we have will be provided to the adopter.
